Homage to S. Ram Bharati

A great soul passes away!

S. Ram Bharati left us on a Tuesday Morning, the 28th of October 2003 in India, at dawn of his sixty years.

Born in  Mauritius on the 17th July 1944, he spent his childhood in this nice island with his loving father. High-spirited, he was an independent and self-educated boy! From his young age, he performed an instrumental music in an orchestra and went on the stage.

He left his beloved island to live in Paris, where he studied Humanities and Literature, at the Sorbonne. After these Parisian years, he settled in Switzerland, where he spent, as he loved this country, twenty years of his life. He moved in Neuchâtel and practised his Yoga art!

Pure Hindu at heart, he had a small yoga book, entitled “Yoga for Yall”, written by a holy man living in South India.

In 1983, after several months in quest of his author, he met Dr. Shuddhananda Bharati, writer of “Yoga for All”. He finally found this universal genius in his school, at Sholapuram, a short man with sparkling eyes, shrieking at him from his balcony:  “Come, come, I was waiting for you!”

So, a new friendship began relating these two men forever. As youngsters who found themselves, they generally enjoyed talking about Philosophy, Yoga and Humanity.

One day, Shuddhananda asked Ram: “What do you teach to your students in Switzerland”?  He answered to him, smiling: “Simplicity”!

DrShuddhananda always told  him: “You are born for a great mission”! He trusted his poetries in French to him and allowed him to develop his Ideal of Sama Yoga in Switzerland.

He gave him his copyrights for the translation of his books in Europe.

Then, S. Ram Bharati collected the funds needed for the achievement of his school, at Sholapuram, inaugurated in 1992. Unfortunately, Dr. Shuddhananda Bharati could not have seen alive his school built.

S. Ram Bharati mission was fruitful. He organized in Switzerland, three successive tours of Indian Music and Dance. The first year, in 1990, with the Govindarajan Familly, in 1991 with the Dancer of Bharata Natyam Jayanthasri Rajaram and in 1992 with DrBalamurali Krishna and and with the Choreographer and Dancer Saraswati. These enchanting memorabilia remain in our hearts.

Thereafter, S. Ram Bharati settled in France with Martine, for a time, in his house in Brittany home and founded the “S.R.I.A.; S. Ram Bharati Association.

S.R.I.Adeveloped great plans in India, country where S. Bharati chose to live permanently.

In company with Matilda Grace, he established at Kancheepuram. With her, he founded the Poet Circle at Chennai, celebrated DrShuddhananda Centennial and translated “Bharata Shakti” from Tamil into English. “Bharata Shakti” is the opus magnum of the Wise Kaviyogi Maharishi DrShuddhananda Bharati, a master work outlining the Humanity Epic in 50 000 verses.

S. Ram Bharati gave us an inheritance of courage and dignity!

His greatest wish, devellop the Grace and Awareness Garden!

Association Peace For All and the Sama Yoga Centre in Switzerland represented by Christian Piaget bear the torch again and continue the work began for many years in developing and supporting the Yoga Samaj at Sholapuram, while developing the Ideal of the Wise Dr. Shuddhananda Bharati.
